2019: The year of consistency

2019! Wow I cannot believe that it is already 2019. Not going to lie, slightly glad to be leaving 2018 in the dust, it was a year of ups and downs to put it lightly, and I’m so excited for everything this year is going to bring.

Every year, I think about New Year’s Resolutions and what that means for me. It’s easy to fall into the pit of selecting a resolution, applying it for a few weeks or the first month, and then completely forgetting about it because it was too ambitious or didn’t work with your schedule. I think that if we think of a word for the year, that allows us to stick to a smaller goal and apply it to all aspects of our life!

This year, I have decided that my word is: consistency. This word represents a lot to me because I have many different areas of my life where I feel this is needed. When I first thought about what I needed to change, this was the basis of everything:

  • take pilates at least 3 times a week (consistency working out)
  • go to church at least 3 Sundays a month (consistency with my faith)
  • budget my money better by not spending on frivolous things (consistency with my funds)
  • only eat sweets once a week (consistency with my diet)
  • practicing my vocals (singing) at least 4 times a week (consistency with my vocal health)

These are some of the things I have chosen to focus on for 2019. I think that if you can find a word that can encompass your entire year, you will have an easier time sticking to your different goals. This will allow you to go back to the basics and not feel defeated when you don’t stick to these specific New Year’s Resolutions.

I am so excited for 2019, and I hope that you are too! There is so much to look forward to in this life and so many beautiful things happening around us. I hope that you are able to wake up every day thankful for your life and the blessings that have happened. Even in the darkest of times, we can still find os much to be thankful for and I hope this is a year filled with blessings for you!
