Glitter + Gratitude

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It turns a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.” – Melody Beattie

Hello my loves! I thought I would do a quick little blog post on why I decided to change my blog name. Originally, I wasn’t sure what my direction was going to be with this blog, so I simply used my first and middle name as the name of my blog; more recently, since I’ve decided to get a little more serious with it, I have decided to change my name to “Glitter + Gratitude”. I had a couple thoughts behind this.

When I was originally deciding on a new name, I was thinking about how I needed to have a name that related to something more personal and something that related to the fashion and beauty side of the blog. Easily, glitter is something I love and seems to sum up my likes very easily. The harder word to figure out was the word that described the personal side. There were a lot of different words that I considered, but “gratitude” seemed to tie it up nicely. The above quotes is one of my absolute favorites and I think we can each apply it to our lives in individual ways. There are so many things that I am thankful for in my life and while things aren’t always perfect, I think that if we can find gratitude in every situation, it turns glasses that are half empty into glasses that are half full. Every situation is determined on how we perceive it and I think having gratitude for everything in life makes it so much richer!

I’m hoping that as I proceed with this blog, I will be able to touch on all sorts of different bases and create a space to share all sorts of things from fashion to beauty to personal experiences, and much more. It has gotten easier for me to write and share more personal things and I look forward to being more vulnerable and sharing more of what I’m able to! As always, thank you so much for your support and taking the time to read each post.

so much love,

Maya Keiko
