That Friday Feeling

May today be the Fridayest Friday that ever Fridayed!!!!

Hi my beautiful babes! (and gents) Oh my, this is the most random blog post ever but I just felt like I needed to get all these words out into a post and hopefully make some sense of them! Soooo the other day, someone commented on one of my Instagram posts saying that she loves how positive I always am and how happy I am and then someone told me later on, in person, that they loved my makeup and let me tell you, those two comments alone surely made my day. I have two things to say about this. The first thing I want to talk about is kindness.

“Kindness is language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” – Mark Twain

Having these two people say/ write these things to me really meant so much more to me than I’m sure they knew, and it made me think about how many times I see a picture or see someone in real life where I think they are beautiful or that their outfit is cute or something, and don’t say anything. I like to think of myself as a kind person, but I think we forget that kindness can be something as simple as a few nice words to make someone feel good about themselves. Obviously, kindness goes so far beyond that and continues on to all the little things we can do for other people like letting someone merge into our lane in front of us, or picking something up for someone, or even paying for someone’s coffee. There are so many simple, little things we can do in our everyday lives to pay it forward and create a ripple effect around us. It really doesn’t cost a thing to be nice to others, you aren’t wasting a thing being kind, and you will never regret going that little extra bit to be nice to someone. Who knows? You could be turning their entire day, or even week, around. I’m a firm believer that you never truly know what’s going on in other peoples’ lives and they can be struggling more than you know, and knowing that someone cares about them and matters makes a world of difference.

“No one ever injured their eyesight be looking on the bright side.”

The second thing I wanted to touch on from this, is that I’m not always positive and I’m not always happy. I try my best to go into every single day with the most positive attitude I possibly can, but I’m still human. I haven’t always been like this, this past year especially, I think I was the farthest from that possible, but I had a mental change that really put me in a much better headspace. Listen, at the end of the day, there are sooooo many circumstances in our lives that are out of our control, and when you wake up every day, you truly don’t know what the entirety of the day is going to hold. Sure you know you will go to work and go to the gym and eat dinner, but there are so many little factors in between all of those things, that you don’t have full and complete control over. Now, you wake up and choose to go into the day dreading things that could happen or look at the glass half full and realize how much goodness could occur that day. I have chosen to try to wake up every morning positive and happy, because that is so much better than the latter. What I do have to say is this, though… I spread positivity and happiness as much as I possibly can on my Instagram. It’s in my stories, on my posts, in my highlights, in my comments.. I do everything I can to spread positivity because that is my place to do it, and my goal in life is to lift others and help others and let others know that they are loved and cared about. Once again, I’m not perfect but I do believe that that is my purpose in life. I wear my heart on my sleeve (for better or for worse) and I crave human connection, and I would do anything for someone in need. With all of this, though, my social media is just a highlight of what I want you to see and what I want to spread. Since I began my blogging journey, I aimed to turn my social media into a more focused place for my blog and hid (or tried to hide) certain vulnerable parts of myself. I have my deep rooted insecurities, my career goals change every two seconds, I have days where I wake up and say nope, and little things can go wrong that make me feel like it’s the end of the world, but I will always put my best foot forward because that’s what I do. I will still wake up everyday and tell you that it’s a great day and you are loved and cared for and supported even when I may not fully be feeling that myself. So, while it absolutely makes my day for people to tell me that they love my positivity, I am not going to lie and say that that is my entire life. However, anyone that knows me, knows that I have gotten a hecckkkk of a lot more positive and happy and I’m crazy and loud and sing at random times and dance down hallways and talk in weird voices with my friends and I’m just a crazy person that loves life more than anything and loves the people in it even more. Positivity is something that we DO have control over… while we may not have control over much else, we do have the power to decide how we view the world and how we wake up each morning.

“Be happy in the moment, that’s enough. Each moment is all we need, not more.” – Mother Theresa

I guess that was my little Friday rant. Just love one another with every little bone of your body and go out of your way to be kind to people. You will help yourself and you never know who you could be helping along the way. Love really makes the world go round. Kindness is free and waking up with a positive outlook is the best thing you could ever do for yourself. I’m here for you and you matter and you are so enough and worth a wonderful amazing life. Sending you so much love and light today!

  1. thank you for writing this. It is so true I have a choice in each moment to choose kindness and love. I can surley choose the opposite and I did for a long time, but it led me to a miserable life. A life lived full of gratitude, humility, love and kindness is certainly a life lived near if not on the mountaintop. Thanks again.
